Agpest Website Redesign from Duda to WordPress using Elementor Pro Plugin

Krystle Carson is an entrepreneur running a successful pest control business. Agpest’s website was initially built on the Duda platform but required a complete redesign to enhance its visual appeal, user experience, and search engine optimization. The client sought a freelance web developer on Upwork to migrate the website from Duda to WordPress using the Elementor Pro plugin.

Project Challenges

The primary objective of this project was to redesign Agpest’s website, leveraging WordPress and the Elementor Pro plugin. The redesign aimed to improve the overall user experience, implement modern design aesthetics, enhance search engine optimization, and ensure responsiveness across various devices.

Challenges:

  1. Lack of Direct Migration Plugin: The absence of a direct migration plugin from Duda to WordPress posed a challenge. Consequently, the website had to be rebuilt from scratch on the WordPress platform.
  2. Design Consistency: The existing website had an outdated design lacking visual appeal and modern aesthetics. The challenge was to create a fresh and visually appealing design while maintaining consistency with Agpest’s brand identity.
  3. SEO Optimization: The previous website lacked proper search engine optimization. The redesign optimized the website’s structure, content, and metadata to improve its visibility on search engine result pages.
  4. Responsiveness: The website had to be optimized for responsiveness across various devices, including desktops, tablets, and mobile phones, to ensure a seamless user experience.

What I Did

Solution:

  1. Kick-off Meeting and Requirement Gathering: An initial meeting was conducted with Krystle Carson to understand Agpest’s business goals, target audience, and design preferences. The project requirements, timeline, and deliverables were established during this stage.
  2. Mockup Design using Figma: A mockup design was created using the Figma design tool. The new design incorporated modern aesthetics, improved usability, and consistent branding elements. The plan was shared with the client for feedback and approval before proceeding to the development phase.
  3. WordPress Installation and Theme Setup: WordPress was installed on the hosting server, and an appropriate theme was selected and customized to align with Agpest’s branding guidelines.
  4. Development with Elementor Pro Plugin: The approved mockup design was translated into a functional website using the Elementor Pro plugin. Elementor’s drag-and-drop interface facilitated seamless customization of page layouts, sections, and elements without coding.
  5. Content Migration and Optimization: The existing website content was migrated to the new WordPress site, ensuring proper formatting and structure. SEO optimization techniques were applied, including keyword research, meta-tag optimization, and schema markup implementation.
  6. Design Optimization and Responsiveness: The website design was optimized for performance and loading speed. Additionally, Elementor Pro’s responsive design features were utilized to ensure the website displayed correctly on all devices, including desktops, tablets, and mobile phones.
  7. Testing and Quality Assurance: Extensive testing was conducted to identify and rectify bugs, broken links, or compatibility issues. Cross-browser testing, form validation, and user experience testing were performed to ensure a smooth browsing experience for users.
  8. Launch and Post-Launch Support: The website was launched once all the necessary optimizations and testing were completed. Post-launch support was provided to address issues during the initial period and ensure a seamless transition.
